Twenty-six homes. Two markets. One family who actually knows which trail you should hike at sunrise. This is The Hideaway Haus.

We started Hideaway because we kept booking places that looked like the photos and didn’t feel like them. Twenty-six homes in, we know every doormat and every coffee grinder by heart.
We’re a family-run company, not a faceless management arm. We own and operate every home in this collection, so the person who chose the linens is the same one who answers when you text at check-in.
Today that’s twenty-six homes across two places we love: the high desert around Joshua Tree, and the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Different landscapes, one promise: a home that feels exactly like its photos, and a host who actually shows up.
We built The Hideaway Haus so you could book those homes directly, keep the savings the big booking sites would skim off the top, and deal straight with the people who own the place.

We don’t have hundreds of properties. We have 26 hideaways we know by heart: every doormat, every coffee grinder, every trail that starts behind the back door.
We don’t list homes we wouldn’t stay in ourselves. Every Hideaway is one we own and operate: cleaned, stocked, and checked by our own team before every stay. Here’s the standard each one is held to.
Every property is a place one of our team has stayed in. We test the bed, the shower pressure, the morning light. If it’s not somewhere we’d send our parents, it doesn’t make it.
We’d send our parents hereSarah picks the linens, the mattresses, the kitchen everything: the same standard in every home, because the person who chose them is the same one you can text.
Furnished by the family, not a formulaWe write a custom playbook for the home: what to do at sunrise, where to eat at 9pm on a Tuesday, the trail that nobody knows. We add the secrets ourselves. We’re the ones who’ve stayed there.
A custom playbook per homeQuarterly site visits. Linen audits. We don’t add a new home until the last one is humming. That’s why we have 26, not 2,000.
Owned & operated by usWe won’t dilute the experience to chase a third market. When we know the Smokies and the high desert as well as the people who live there, we’ll think about it.

Homes within minutes of the West entrance. The original Hideaway. Big skies, dark nights, hot tubs you can stargaze from. Sundays at Pappy + Harriet’s. Sunrise hikes at Hidden Valley.

Cabins and lodges across Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. Mist, hemlock, creek-side decks, and front porches built for the kind of slow morning a city won’t let you have.
Browse the collection. Book direct. Save versus everywhere else. We’ll see you at check-in.
